2004 Resonance
For all year 2004 “Resonance – l’arte dell’attenzione” progetto Artistico/artistic project in Cuneo. (Albume’s space, Plaid, Fondazione Peano, downtown of Cuneo, Senzatamburinetrombette’s space, Nuvolari Libera Tribù, Janus Bookshop). (Personale/Solo show).
Questa idea fa parte di un progetto che per tutto il 2004 si svolgerà sul territorio cuneese. Un attraversamento meditativo dell'artista sull'essere in un determinato spazio, contaminato da una particolare tradizione culturale, come in questo caso quella della provincia subalpina. Queste opere si realizzeranno rielaborando elementi sociali e familiari vissuti direttamente dall'artista, alla scoperta delle ipotesi d'origine. Il nuovo progetto prende il nome globale di "Resonance - l'arte dell'attenzione".
For this year (2004), the artist Domenico Olivero is elaborating an original project that will develop through a series of sensitive instants on the cuneese territory. After the cosmopolitan experience of PassDoc, created by him in different places (Barcellona, Berlin, Canterbury, City of Mexico, Nice, San Francisco and Venice), the new artistic work looks at its adoptive earth. It is a meditative crossing by the artist on the subject of being in a particular place, influenced by a particular cultural tradition, as in this case by his sub-Alpine province. These works will be created by including social and family elements seen directly by the artist towards the discovery of his original hypothesis. The new project will take on the all-inclusive name of "Resonance: the Art of Attention".

Questo progetto nasce come omaggio a Felix Gonzalez-Torres, artista meravigliosamente intimista. Esso rielabora uno dei suoi progetti più noti, la fotografia del suo letto esposta alla visione dei passanti nelle vie di New York, progetto organizzato da Anne Umland in collaborazione col MoMa, dal 16 Maggio al 30 Giugno del 1992. Il mio intento è prenderne spunto e rielaborarlo al mondo del web, cercando di coinvolgere altre persone e rendendo il tutto un working in progress. Tale azione vuole sia rendere omaggio ad un'artista da me amato sia riconsiderare il ruolo del web che sempre più diventa spazio reale che documenta e rende viva la realtà stessa, oltre a creare un dialogo fra spazio privato e spazio pubblico.
Il lavoro artistico prende spunto da tale azione rimpostandola per il web, per cui nei giorni fra il 16/12/02 e il 20/12/02 fotografato la mia stanza da letto al mattino e inserisco la foto realizzata in alcuni siti web pubblici (vedi elenco siti sotto), proponendo anche a tutti i casuali visitatori di inviarmi la foto dei loro letti mattutini e di pubblicarle dal 20/12/02 in poi nei siti web. Il progetto verrà raccolto alla fine nello spazio web http://digilander.libero.it/omaggioGFT/ , mentre sono stati quotidianamente usati i siti: www.exibart.com (nel forum) / www.undo.net (carta bianca) come luogo di diffusione pubblica del progetto.
This project is born as a homage to Felix Gonzalez-Torres, a marvelous intimist artist. This re-creates one of his most well known projects, the photograph of his bed exhibited to the pedestrians on the streets of New York City, a project organized by Anne Unland in collaboration with MoMa, from May 16th to June 30th of 1992. It is my intention to take it as a starting point and re-create it on the world wide web, hoping to involve other persons and render it all as a work in progress. Such action would render homage to an artist I love, re-evaluate the role of the web which, the more it becomes real space that documents and renders live reality itself, the further it creates a dialogue between private and public space.
The artistic work will take as its starting point photographs contributed by the contestants which will be posted on the web for which, from 12/16/02 to 12/20/02, I have photographed my bedroom in the morning and have also inserted other photos taken from other public sites (see the list of sites below). I propose that all chance visitors send me photos of their in-the-morning beds so I can publish them starting on 12/20/02 at the appropriate websites. All the material will then be gathered on a suitable website.
